Pearl were delighted to attend an event celebrating cultural diversity within the Borough of Broxtowe (Beeston, Nottinghamshire).
The overall aim of the event was to have fun and take part in the celebration of the cultural diversity within the Borough of Broxtowe. There were a variety of workshops and sporting activities. The event aimed to encourage a wide range of family members to attend and there was the opportunity to share knowledge and experiences of other cultures within the local community.
The event was organised by Broxtowe Community Celebration Group supported by local organisations. Broxtowe Community Celebration Group aims to build and develop positive relationships across and between communities in Broxtowe Borough. The group also aims to improve access to services and to improve communication between local organisations and diverse communities of Broxtowe.
As the primary provider of Interpreting and Translation services to the NHS in the East Midlands, including Nottinghamshire County PCT and Nottinghamshire Healthcare, Pearl were delighted to attend this celebration event.
'We were so happy to be included in the event and to have the opportunity to engage with the community who are accessing our services. It also allowed us to promote our services within this often vulnerable community who may not be aware that they are entitled to access an interpreter when attending GP appointments.'
