THE CLIENT
Arbeit und Leben, a training company based in Germany, and the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) in London needed simultaneous interpreters and interpreting equipment for a two day conference related to Occupational Health Management at the RCN in London in May 2015. The languages required were Hungarian, Serbian and German.

THE CHALLENGE
We only received the confirmation from our clients that they would like to go ahead 2 weeks before the conference took place, which meant that we had no time to waste in finding suitable, experienced conference interpreters especially in the rarer Serbian and Hungarian language combinations, experienced in the health management field.

THE SOLUTION
We carried out an immediate site visit so we could check that the venue would have the capacity for the three interpreting booths required for each language combination. We advised the client on how to rearrange the room to accommodate the necessary interpreting equipment.
Our recruitment interpreting team began an intensive search to ensure we could provide a selection of experienced candidates and CVs so the client could chose the most appropriate linguist for the assignment. As always, a senior member of Pearl’s staff was present at the start of the conference to ensure the interpreting aspect operated smoothly.

THE BENEFITS
Both Arbeit und Leben and the RCN provided us with positive feedback regarding not just the conference interpreters provided, but also the technical support provided.
“…thank you very much for an excellent interpretation service and a good technical support.” Gerd Meister, Bildungsvereinigung ARBEIT UND LEBEN Niedersachsen Ost gGmbH
